Hi I'm Jono, a photographer based in Wellington, New Zealand. I have a deep interest in the relationships people have with the natural environment and I'm curious about the way that shapes their day to day lives.
Like many animals on Earth, Humans tend to try and change the environment around them to suit their needs by building additions to and altering existing landscapes, although we seem to have done so on a much grander scale than most species. I have always been fascinated by this and it has fuelled an interest in environmentalism as well as a passion for the outdoors and nature.
This interest shapes the theme of my work with a focus on documenting the signs of life that we leave behind in the environment as we interact with it to enhance its usefulness to us. The way the things we build interact with nature fascinates me and I hope I can share some of my experience of this through my images.

Gear:
Some people like to ask about gear, so I'll just detail it here:
I recently went on a mission to slim down my camera gear as I was finding the bulk of big lenses a deterrent to actually picking them up and shooting. I'm thrilled with the minimal setup I have now and it seems to be working great for the work I do.
